So much more than a Blanket!

I designed the BearHug while preparing for a family trip. I knew the airplane gets cold sometimes
and never thought much of the airline blankets. They were too small, rough to the touch and I
shuddered to think about their cleanliness. I wanted to find something special for my older kids,  
something that they could feel excited about.
I found the market overflowing with great products for babies and toddlers, but not much was
available for my traveling kids, who were 5 and 9 years old at the time. All we could find were those
fleece pop culture blankets that would felt with the first wash.
The BearHug was born out of the need for something practical with multiple uses, while ultimately
soothing, cozy and fun for our kids. My ambition was even greater:  I wanted them to
actually want to carry their own stuff on board the airplane!

The BearHugs Blanket was born..

As a mom and a psychologist, I feel kids ages 5 - 15 are a forgotten age group where it comes to
high quality children's products, that are both nurturing and imaginative.
This age group faces so many social, emotional and scholastic challenges that they
really need to feel cherished and nurtured -especially now! They need to be reminded that
it’s OK to ‘let their hair down’, shake the ‘cool’ and Snuggle up in a Hug!
